The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, June 20: 1. The American Cancer Society in Polk County needs volunteers. Coosa Valley Regional Services will hold their monthly board meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 20 at the main office in Rome located at 3 Riverside Industrial Pkwy. The public is invited to attend. 3. The Rockmart Civic Arts Commission 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Bldg. 300, Rockmart, holds drawing classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with Instructor Kathy Torres for ages 13 and up. Classes are $12 per session. Heartland Hospice offers “A Time of Healing” a bereavement group that gives participants the opportunity to learn about the natural grieving process, share experiences and learn in a group setting how to manage and cope wit grief.
