Community Action Partnership to host seminar July 14-16

The Tallatoona Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Polk County is hosting a 3-day seminar to assist locals by providing valuable information about frequent business issues.

The event, scheduled for July 14-16, will begin at 9 a.m each day at the Goodyear Civic Center in Cedartown.

Topics on the fourteenth included foreclosure, bankruptcy and credit counseling. Speakers include Cathy Holsey, Robert Brooks Jr. and Amanda Bing. Topics on the fifteenth include goal setting, budgeting/money management and education, with Lori Franklin, Kevin Patterson and Ann Clay presenting. The sixteenth will host Virginia

Addison and Pamela O’neal as speakers and address employment.

Lunch will be provided on July 14 and 15. Everyone is invited to attend, but the Tallatoona CAP asks that anyone interested in attending RSVP at 770-748-1675

According to the CAP National Website, the Community Action Partnership was established in 1971 as the National Association of Community Action Agencies (NACAA) and is the national organization representing the interests of the 1,000 Community Action Agencies (CAAs) working to fight poverty at the local level.

The Partnership's mission is to be a national forum for policy on poverty and to strengthen, promote, represent, and serve its network of member agencies to assure that the issues of the poor are effectively heard and addressed.
