Two from Cedartown won golf tournament at Meadow Lakes

Meadow Lakes Golf Club in Cedartown hosted a Regional Qualifying Junior Optimist Golf Tournament last Tuesday.

The Rome and Cartersville Noon Optimist Clubs, along with the Club from Summerville/Trion hosted the event.

Cedartown had two players win their respective age divisions. Meghan Keith won in the 14-15 girls division and Hayden Googe was the winner of the 12-13 boys division.

The other girl winners were Dallas Vaughn, of Calhoun, in the 12-13 division and Erin Gunnels, of Piedmont, Ala., in the 16-18 division.

For the boys, Joseph Hacieniec, of Cartersville, won in the 10-11 division, Blake Urbano, of Calhoun, took first in the 14-15 division, and Ethan Lambert, of Rome, won the 16-18 division.

The winners now advance to compete at the state level to be held at the Bartram Trail Golf Club in Evans on June 18.
