Two adult females and two children were transported to Floyd Medical Center after a single car wreck about three miles outside of Cedartown on Collard Valley Road, just past Substation Road.

According to authorities on the scene, the injuries sustained were not considered serious.

The accident occurred when a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a Floyd County tag, left the road and drove through a ditch, taking out a section of fence and striking a tree. The vehicle was traveling westbound toward Cedartown.

Officials said that the driver turned back to say something to the children in the back seat when the automobile left the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. The other three passengers were reportedly wearing their seat belts. No age of the children was available on the scene.
