He was born on June 27, 1944 in Rome, the son of the late Leon Wilson and the late Lottie Hopper Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed by Old Fashion Foods.
He was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church of Aragon.
Survivors included his wife, Suzanne Elliott Wilson, of Aragon to whom he married on June 3, 1979; sons, Elliott Wilson and his wife Tara of Dallas, Greg Wilson and his wife Tera of Byron and Anthony Wilson of Dallas; daughters, Teri Hamrick of Aragon and Stacy Bradley of Dallas; sister, Barbara Taylor of Cedar Bluff and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Lanny Wooten officiating. Interment services followed in the family lot of the Aragon Cemetery with Brown-Wright American Legion Post No. 12 Honor Guard in charge of the military graveside rites.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Elliott Wilson, Greg Wilson, Philip Campbell, Arnold Wheeler, Jon Elliott and Jamie Elliott.
The following gentlemen served as honorary pallbearers: Jordan Wilson, Erik Lewis, Darrin Taylor and Michael Taylor.
