He was born on Sept. 10, 1926 in Rockmart, the son of the late Thomas Clifford and Mamie Elsie Trammell Sorrells.
Mr. Sorrells was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Louise Malone Sorrells; sons, Jerry Sorrells, James Thomas Sorrells and Dennis Lamar Sorrells; sisters, Lottie Taylor, Mamie Lou Hughes, Christine Arp and Alice Louise Caldwell and brothers, Bill Sorrells, T.C. Sorrells and Marshall Sorrells.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret Ann Jarrad; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside and interment service was conducted on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Mitzi Oates officiating.
