Mr. Lassetter

Mr. Jimmy Buren Lassetter, 45, of Newnan, passed away at Grady Memorial Hospital on Dec. 13, 2012.

He was born in Newnan on March 1, 1967 to George Buren Lassetter and Jacqueline Dyer Lassetter.

Mr. Lassetter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Lassetter and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dyer all of Newnan.

His parents were previous owners of Lassetter Transport, Coweta Gas Co., Troup County Gas Co., and Meriwether County Gas Company.

Mr. Lassetter began working with his father at 12 years of age in May of 1979 and would continue for over 35 years. He would eventually open Lassetter Propane, LLC., in Cedartown.

Mr. Lassetter was a member and deacon at Unity Baptist Church and worked extensively on the new worship center and adjoining facilities.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lori Lassetter of Newnan; sons, Devin Buren Lassetter (Holly) of Newnan and Thomas Dyer Lassetter (Ashley); daughter, Lindsay Lorraine Lassetter; sister, Daphne Lassetter Eskew (Kenneth); two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Flemming, Pastor Danny Wilson, and Dr. Phil Pilgrim officiating.

Pallbearers were: Rickey Payton, Jack Lassetter, Joey Lyle, Doug Chanel, Jeff Duncan and Al Griffeth. Honorary pallbearers were: Kenneth Eskew, Denny Ray Thomas and Cary Jackson.

Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
