He was born in Cherokee County, Ala. on Jan. 5, 1936 a son of the late Vinemon Floyd and Mildred Baldwin Floyd.
Mr. Floyd lived in the Chicago, Ill. area for 10 years returning to Rockmart in 1968. He had lived in the Rockmart area the greater part of his life and retired in 1998 from the Print Pack Corporation following 30 years of service. Mr. Floyd was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents Mr. Floyd was preceded by a sister, Linda Floyd and by three brothers, Daniel Floyd, John Floyd and Edward Floyd.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. Tim Floyd, Rockmart, Jeff Floyd, Newnan and Brian W. Floyd, Rockmart; four sisters, Catherine Chambers, Rome, Helen Williams, Cedartown, Dot Craddock, Clayton and Wanda Wilson, Ellijay; two brothers, Carroll Floyd, Mobile, Ala. and Billy Floyd, Blairsville and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26 at 2- p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Parris officiating. Interment followed in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
