The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Sept. 4:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activites. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. The Rockmart Library holds story time for children ages 18 months to 6-years-old every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the children's corner of the library.

3. Haven, a support group for women, meets each Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cedartown Housing Authority, 344 West Ave. A group discusses such issues as domestic violence, sexual assault and addictions among other topics. The group is described as a place where women can safely talk about any problem or issue they may be having. For more information, contact 770-748-6633 or 770-748-2300.

4. The Polk School Board of Education will hold a community input meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the central office.
