The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Sept. 19:

1. Floyd Medical Center will hold its first annual Health and Wealth seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Coosa Country Club in Rome. The seminar is for women between the ages of 40 and 65 who often find themselves as caregivers for both their parents and children. The cost of the seminar and luncheon is $10. Interested participants can register online at www.floydfoundationevents.org or call 706.509.3290.

2. Kids in Recovery meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Cedartown Library for kids ages 12 to 19-years-old with substance abuse problems. For more information call Pastor Sims, 770-546-0772.

3. CASA of Polk and Haralson will offer their fall training class to become a child advocate for children involved in juvenile court proceedings. The 40 hour program began Monday, Sept. 17 and last to Monday, Oct. 17. Classes will be held in Cedartown on Mondays and Wednesdays for a total of 10 classes. 4. The annual Polk County fair is going on this week at the fair grounds located on Hwy. 278.
