The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Sept. 5:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activites. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. Calvary Assembly of God, 710 S. Cave Spring Street, invites all children ages 12-and-under to their Wednesday night children’s program. The class is currently studying Faith Case: Armor of God, from Ephesians 6:10-18. This class features truth verses, Bible stories, DVD segments, games, and more. Also, adult Bible study is held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. and they are currently going verse by verse through the book of Judges

3. Kids in Recovery meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Cedartown Library for kids ages 12 to 19-years-old with substance abuse problems. For more information call Pastor Sims, 770-546-0772.
