The following is a list of events going on in and around Polk County today, Oct. 26:

1. The Cedartown Senior Citizen Nutrition Center located next to Burt Wood Park has activities Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seniors 55 and older may participate in activities. Seniors 60 and older may participate in activities as well as nutritional meals and trips.

2. Early voting in Polk County began Oct. 15 and continues through Nov. 2 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cedartown Elections Office, 144 West Ave., Cedartown, and the Nathan Dean Community Center, 604 Goodyear Av. Rockmart.

3. The Cedartown United Fund food pantry is in desperate need of non-perishable food items or monetary donations for the purchase of groceries to purchase food for needy individuals in Polk County. Donations can be made at 345 S. College St. Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon or by calling 770-748-1215 to request a different drop off time.
