A Cedartown man died in a motorcycle wreck Tuesday night that also injured his passenger.

Polk County Assistant Coroner Tony Brazier said Daniel Dean Northcutt, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wreck occurred on Jackson Chapel Road, off Mountain Home Road sometime Tuesday evening.

Brazier said witnesses told police the motorcycle left the road and struck a barbed wire fence. Northcutt suffered blunt force trauma to his head and chest area as a result, Brazier said.

A passenger on the motorcycle was injured and taken to Floyd Medical Center by ambulance. Brazier did not have the passenger's name, and a wreck report was not immediately available.
