The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Polk County.

Residents should take shelter and stay alert to changing weather.

The city has sounded the tornado siren, meaning a tornado or funnel cloud has been spotted in the area.

Initial reports say a tornado has been spotted on the ground just over the Alabama line and was heading towards Prior Station.
