Cedartown police responded to Casey’s Food Store in reference to a theft by shoplifting call on March 16.

According to an employee, a suspect left the store without purchasing some meat totaling $28.61.

The employee approached the man and the suspect ran out of the store heading towards Main Street. At this point, the employee lost sight of the suspect, reports said. The suspect did drop the meat outside the store.

Another individual, who was in the store with the suspect, gave the employee the suspect’s name and address, reports said, but as of press time, no arrest has been made.

Thank god the suspect dropped the meat. Was the meat okay? Did anyone eventually eat it?
