Rockmart man faces charges in drug raid

A Rockmart man faces several drug charges after the Polk County Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) raided his home Feb. 27.

Cody Rashaun Wright, 30, of 179 Sycamore St., Rockmart, was charged with cocaine possession, cocaine possession with intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a schedule IV narcotic, possession of drugs not in the original container, possession of drug-related objects and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to NET reports.

Wright bonded out of jail Feb. 28, according to Polk County Jail reports.

The raid at Wright’s home followed a NET investigation into the possession and distribution of crack cocaine, reports state.

Capt. Michael McGee said NET officers initiated a search warrant at the Sycamore Street home during the afternoon Feb. 27. Agents recovered less than an ounce of crack cocaine, less than an ounce of marijuana, and two handguns in the raid, he said.
