Meanwhile, Watkinsville lawyer Alan Alexander said Wednesday he will run for the state House of Representatives seat Huckaby resigned from last week.
Regents will meet by conference call in closed session at 10 a.m. Friday to discuss the appointment, then take a vote in open session, according to a news release. Huckaby's appointment is virtually assured, since he is the sole finalist for the position.
