The Polk School District is closing its schools due to concern about icy conditions from a blizzard moving through Northwest Georgia.

Superintendent of Schools Marvin Williams made the decision around 9:30 a.m. based on changing weather conditions and the latest forecasts.

Buses have been called to report to the schools to pick up students and return them home.
