The event will once again be at Kenview Farms, and will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. It is sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources.
Children, ages 15-years-old and younger, will be fishing for channel catfish. All children must be accompanied by an adult and they must bring their own fishing equipment and bait. There is an eight fish limit. No one is permitted to fish with minnows.
During the event, free hot dogs and drinks will be provided and prizes will be given away.
To get to Kenview Farms, from the intersection of Hwy. 278 and Hwy. 113 take Hwy. 113 north for four miles. Kenview Farms is on the left and will be marked with signs.
Last year, a crowd of around 360 people had gathered around the lake to fish by 10:30 a.m. that morning. Fishermen found success throughout the day, catching numerous catfish.
