DECATUR, GA. — Police say a security guard shot a robber who tried to hold up a metro Atlanta bank using a toy gun.

WXIA-TV reports a man tried to rob a Citizens Trust bank in Decatur minutes after it opened Wednesday. A security guard shot the would-be robber in the knee.

DeKalb County police say it turns out the suspect's gun was a plastic toy. He was taken to a hospital after being shot. The FBI says it won't release the suspect's identity until federal charges are filed.

Police spokeswoman Lt. Pam Kunz says a bank employee's leg was grazed in the shooting after the security guard fired several rounds. The woman was treated and back at work within an hour.
