Pilgrim wins tourney

In a close tournament Lamar Pilgrim played a steady game and carded a 151 total to win the two day- 36 hole Cherokee Country Club Championship.

Mason Brumby kept the pres-sure on but came up short by two strokes. Ryan Zebeau, the pre-tourney favorite, also played steady golf and finished in third place.

The low net winner in the championship flight went to Charlie Zebeau with a two-day net total of 114. Cal Holmes finished second and Craig Rus-sell was third.

In the “A” flight Larry Peek narrowly eked out a one stroke victory over Michael Pyle. Peek fired a brillant 73 on the second day to assure his victory. Third place belonged to Jon Edwards, while Eddie Lee took fourth place, and John “Socko” Ser-ketich finished fifth.

Mr. Ed Graves served as the Honorary Chairman and hit the ceremonial drive to kick off the tournament on Saturday.

The tournament is held yearly on the last weekend in September.
