At the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) induction ceremony, students who maintained all A’s in all classes for an entire semester without behavior referrals were welcomed into the popular community service club.
The induction ceremony is student’s official entrance into the club, which is presented by the NJHS Sponsors and Student Member Officers.
The ceremony began with a welcome from CMS Principal Marvin Grayer and a special thank you from Advisor Laura Cox. Cox then recognized officers for the club and the new inductees that attended the ceremony.
Following introductions, officers inducted new members to the group, and each participated in the traditional NJHS Candle Lighting Ceremony. Each new member made the NJHS pledge, which states:
I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the Cedartown Middle School National Junior Honor Society to which I have been selected, striving in every way by word or deed to make its ideals the ideals of my school and club and of my life.
Following the pledge, students and parents were invited to enjoy refreshments and fellowship in the Commons area, and members took a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
CMS’s NJHS officers include President Aubrey Redding, Vice President, Mac Loudermilk, Secretary Abigail Kiser, Historian Mariah Longshore, Jake Collier, Eric Howard and Ashley Gable.
