Motorcyclists from Atlanta and from across the state will be converging on Cedartown Saturday in support of a fund-raising event for the Murphy-Harpst Children's Center.

The event, Rescue Riders for the Children at Murphy Harpst, culminates at noon on the grounds of the facility, located at 740 Fletcher St., Cedartown.

“We are expecting more than 100 riders,” said Charles Troutman, chief executive officer for Murphy-Harpst.

Murphy-Harpst is an independent not-for-profit agency that houses, cares for and educates abused and neglected children.

Motorcyclists must pre-register for the rally. The $35 fee includes a lunch from Chick-fil-A restaurant. Participants also receive a T-shirt, goodie bag and will tour the facility.
