On Oct. 23, a foot chase resulted in the arrest of a Cedartown man for possession of cocaine.

A Cedartown Police Department bike officer patrolling the area of Pace Street noticed a black male approach a vehicle. According to the officer, the subject appeared to be making a drug transaction.

The subject noticed the officer and turned from the vehicle, throwing the pack of cigarettes in the bushes beside a residence. The subject then took flight on foot.

Another CPD officer and a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office assisted in the chase and caught the suspect in the vicinity of Gibson Street.

The bike officer located the cigarette pack and found four suspected crack cocaine rocks. Marcus Hall, 21, of Cedartown, was arrested and taken to the Cedartown Police Department.
