Kiwanis hosts 18th annual Health Fair

The Kiwanis Club of Cedartown held its 18th annual Health Fair, on Feb. 26. The fair was for all Cedartown fifth graders.

Kiwanian Vance Voinche arranged for community group members to make presentations to 345 students.

Information was given by the Council on Alcohol and Drugs. “Just Say No.” The Cedartown Police Department gave a presentation on gun safety. The Cedartown Fire Department presented on fire safety. The Polk County Health Department gave a presentation on the food pyramid. The Georgia Sexual Assault Center presented on bullying. The UGA Extension service gave a presentation on healthy snacks. The Murphy Harpst Children’s Center presented on first aid. The Floyd Emergency Services gave a presentation on bike safety.

The Cherokee K Kids acted as host for the three local elementary schools.
