Girl charged in fatal ATV wreck

The driver of in an all-terrain vehicle crash that took the life of a 10-year-old Rome girl has been charged in the incident, according to Georgia State Patrol (GSP) officials.

Kasey Green, 22, of Jackson Chapel Road, Cave Spring, is charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, no proof of insurance, failure to maintain lane, and registration and license requirements, reports said.

Keanua Mackenzie Chambers, 10, of Rome, died April 1 after the ATV driven by Green left the road in the Jackson Chapel Road area near Old Jackson Chapel Road, hit a fence, struck a tree and overturned.

Green was taken to a local hospital and has been recovering, according to GSP and hospital officials.
