A fire on the night of Feb. 9, caused extensive damage to a Polk County home, but no injuries, according to a fire official.

Polk County Safety Director Randy Lacey said the blaze was called in at 7 p.m. for a house in Cedartown’s Wimberly Hill Road area. He said the home was on an old side road, possibly Wise Road.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and found the home to be fully engulfed in flames. Lacey said no one was living in the home at the time of the fire.

The blaze is under investigation, he said.
