FPRA Introducing Girls Volleyball to Fall Athletic Program Line-up

The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority is partnering with coach Jim Linos to launch a new Girls Fall Volleyball Program this September.

The 6-week introductory volleyball program offers practices and controlled matches.

This league will introduce proper fundamental techniques for skill development and team play.

The league is open to girls who will be in grades 5th – 8th during the 2011-2012 school year. Games and practices will be held at the Thornton Recreation Center Gym located in North Floyd Park.

Former Darlington Head Coach, Jim Linos, will lead the fall volleyball program. He has over 12 years of volleyball coaching experience including 8 years at Darlington School. He has led his teams to 208 wins over 8 seasons and has received the Georgia Athletic Coaches

Association Area Coach of the Year four times.

The season will run September 12 through October 20. Practices will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 5:45 – 7:45 for the first four weeks of the season, followed by controlled matches two times a week for two weeks.
