Braswell, GA – Edward Chambers would like to announce his candidacy for the upcoming election to fill the post of Braswell City Mayor in light of the recent resignation of former Mayor Richard Fennell.

Chambers, 34, is a Polk County, native and has lived in the community of Braswell since 2010 with his family. Chambers served for a number of years with the Central Intelligence Agency and also as a Federal law enforcement agent.

He is currently the President of Mjolnir Intelligence Initiatives, Inc., which provides subject matter expertise and consulting to the Special Operations Community. He has also worked for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office after graduating Cedartown High School and while attending college in Tennessee.

Chambers has completed advanced education and training specializing in the fields of: Behavior Analysis, Intelligence and Law Enforcement.

He has attended several institutions of higher learning and completed courses at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center as well as with other entities within the U.S. federal government.

Edward has worked in the past with the FBI’s National Joint Terrorism Task Force, Department of Homeland Security, served as an adjunct instructor/consultant for the FBI and U.S. Secret Service and served in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

He also maintains close relationships with leadership personnel from various local, state and federal law enforcement entities.

“The residents of Braswell deserve a government that serves them and caters to their best interests. Being a public servant is a calling of sorts. You no longer think in terms of serving your own needs but the needs of those you work for. Gaining the respect and trust of my community as mayor is my first task and getting the community of Braswell involved in their government is essential to establishing transparency and accountability with those that serve the City of Braswell.”

“I want the residents of Braswell to know precisely where their tax money is going and I welcome them to get involved and ‘open the books’ (so to speak) to shed light on how our local government operates.”

The office of Braswell city mayor has recently been vacated by Richard Fennell and a special election is to be held on Nov. 6, 2012 to fill this position. Voting will be held at the City Hall in Braswell.

There will also be a “Meet the Candidate” cookout to be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 beginning at 1 p.m. with free food and drinks. This will take place at the residence of Pastor Thomas Cole on Brushy Mountain Road in Braswell, GA. All residents are encouraged to attend.

Please contact Mr. Chambers at 678.988.2422 with any questions/concerns.

So, we have a candidate who claims to have a background with the CIA, Department of Homeland Security, and unspecified Federal Law Enforcement agencies. Then this candidate, who is 34 years old, moves to Braswell, Georgia and decides to run for mayor. Something in this story does not calculate. Thorough and solid investigative reporting is needed to verify this individual's resume. Voters have a right to know the truth about all candidates.

'rockmartmann" I agree whole-heartedly about vetting candidate information and invite you to call me anytime. I absolutely welcome any scrutiny and believe that citizens should vet any candidate prior to electing them. I'd be happy to discuss my background with you and will have a candidate forum on the 13th, so you're welcome to attend and ask me anything you wish. Also, feel free to call me anytime at the number in the article. That's why I wanted to include my number, so anyone can call me at anytime. This is the beauty of a public forum! Thanks.

Everything Mr. Edwards says is true. He has no problem showing the proof and has been vetted. He didn't "just decide" to run for mayor. He saw a need for the citizens of Braswell to have honest city government for a change and gave the decision a great deal of thought. You obviously haven't experienced living in Braswell with the status quo. If you had, you would see the dire need for someone with his credentials and motives. And no, I'm not related. Sure that was going to be your next comment.
