The search for a new Rockmart High School principal ended Tuesday night with the selection of Deanna Williams.

The school board voted to waive its non-voting policy for the community input session meeting, and a proposal was made by Superintendent Marvin Williams to hire her as principal. The board approved Williams unanimously.

Superintendent Williams said the school district will advertise the now vacant position for assistant principal and begin accepting applications shortly.
