Christmas tree lighting tonight

The second annual Cedartown Christmas tree lighting will be held tonight in front of the Polk County Court House No. 2.

The Covenant Christian School Children's Choir and the Cedartown High School Band will perform Christmas carols at 6 p.m. and the lighting will be held at 7 p.m.

Santa Claus and Keila's Photo Lab will be available for picture opportunities for children from 6-7:30 p.m.

Ramona Ruark of the Downtown Cedartown Association said the section of Main Street between Sterling Holloway Place to Sycamore Street will be closed from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for the event.

The event is free and open to the public.
