After months of investigation the Cedartown Police Department seized over two pounds of marijuana and arrested two men with felony charges Thursday, July 26.

Kevin Lamont Boozer, 31, of 204 Marietta St. and Ken-neth Sheldon Albert, 26, of 315 Stubbs St., were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

On July 26 officers of the Cedartown Drug Unit and Officers of the Cedartown Police Department executed a search warrant at Boozer’s residence. During the search of his home officers located several large bags of suspected mari-juana. The officers also located two sets of scales that had suspected marijuana residue on them, according to police reports.

Detective Anthony Bowman said that suspected substances tested positive for marijuana. “A large amount of cash and a firearm was also recovered from the residence,” Bowman said.

Officers also observed that the house was equipped with surveillance cameras.

Boozer and Albert were placed under arrest and transported to the Cedartown Police Department for booking.
