People in Cedartown have a new option to cool down this summer with frozen yogurt from the new Top This shop on Main Street.

Owners and Cedartown natives Jeff, Van, Cindy and Jill Dingler decided to open the shop back in April.

Cindy Dinger, who also manages the shop, said, “as soon as we had the idea we just hit the ground running.”

Dingler said that after they had the idea to open the frozen yogurt shop, they opened their doors to the public within 10 weeks. She said that they wanted to provide something for families in the community to do that was both affordable and fun.

“Most of our friends were driving out of town to get their frozen yogurt,” said Dingler, “and we just decided that we were going to ‘bring it home’, so to speak.”

The shop has five machines with two flavors each and a handle to swirl the two flavors together to get a combination giving the customer a total of 15 flavor options. For example one machine had a “dutch chocolate” and an espresso flavor and when swirled together a customer could have a mocha flavored frozen yogurt. According to Dingler, their most popular flavors are the “orange sorbet” and the “sea salt caramel pretzel”.

Along with the frozen yogurt and large selection of toppings, Top This also has a coffee bar and sells fresh cookies. The shop also has branded T-Shirts and other merchandise for sale at the counter. The interior is decorated with brightly colored tiles and tables and the shop also offers an outdoor eating area.

Dingler said what sets Top This apart from similar shops is their available “party room” which can be rented out for special events like birthday parties or meetings.

There are plans to start a punch card program for customers to get special deals for repeat business. Dingler also mentioned the possibility of having a mobile service to serve frozen yogurt at functions around town.

Along with Cindy Dingler, the shop has two assistant managers and seven part time employees. The shop, located in the old Movie Gallery is open seven days a week. For more information call 770-748-6233 or visit them on Facebook.
