Playing last Friday, the young Bulldogs knocked off a tough Armuchee team 9-1 to improve to 6-0 on the season.
Dalton Prince opened the game on the mound for Cedartown and pitched what head coach Bill Ellis described as two “very good” innings.
“Henley Hays pitched very well in relief,” Ellis said. “And the team played great defense the whole game.”
Ellis also noted how Robbie Matthews made a stellar defensive play to end the contest.
“Robbie got in the game and made a good game-ending running catch in right field,” Ellis said.
Cedartown will now play St. Mary’s on Tuesday. On Thursday, the Bulldogs will play Darlington in a doubleheader, starting at 5 p.m.
Currently both Cedartown and Darlington are undefeated and tied for first place in the Rome-Floyd Parks & Recreation Authority league.
