Cedartown High School students took several state wins at the SkillsUSA state competition, held March 15-17 in Atlanta.

CHS students competed against the top students from all of Georgia and two Cedartown students became state champions, with four others in the top three in the state.

Zach Bright became the state champion in welding and Cody Lumpkin became a three-time state champion in criminal justice.

Chris Whitmire won second place in precision machining; Aryn Watters won third place in sheet metal; Dylan Hayden won third place in residential wiring; and Clint Clackum won third place in carpentry.

Bright and Lumpkin will represent Georgia at the National SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City in June.
