"We're talking to them about being safe," explained Andy Fairel, Community Services Coordinator, Floyd Emergency Medical Services. "We're also giving them a free bike helmet."
Also on hand Saturday morning were Rhonda Poteet, with Safe Kids of Polk County, and other paramedics with Floyd EMS.
Local children Ryan Jolly, 11, Elizabeth Eberhart, 10 and William Eberhart, 12, were the first to complete the safety course.
