The GreenJackets, who have had two successful summer runs in a row, have started this year by winning the 2012 Pre-District Tournament Championship. The GreenJackets outscored their opponents 63-5 during the four game Dizzy Dean tournament. Cam Jones was named the Most Valuable Plyaer for the tournament.
According to team officials, the team won the Sportsman Award at the Dizzy Dean World Series in Southaven, Miss. as 10-year-olds and as 11-year-olds they were the runners-up at the Dizzy Dean World Series.
The GreenJackets have won the league championship in Rome this season and are now gearing up to compete in the District tournament in Cartersville on Friday, June 22.
After District, the Dizzy Dean State Tournament will be start July 6 in Sandy Springs.
The Dizzy Dean World Series is slated to get under way July 21 in Mississippi.
