Organizers say that a wave of new voter identification laws amounts to "an unprecedented effort to limit access to the ballot box in states across the country."
The NAACP has been an outspoken opponent of Voter ID laws like those in Georgia. Proponents say the laws are necessary to prevent voter fraud. Opponents say they disproportionately affect poorer and minority citizens who are less likely to have government-issued photo identification documents.
Federal courts have issued mixed rulings on various versions of the laws. Georgia's law has been upheld.
