RALEIGH, N.C. — The shooting of "The Hunger Games" brought more than $60 million to North Carolina, but the follow-up is not being filmed in the state.

"The Hunger games: Catching Fire" began shooting outside Atlanta this week. The News & Observer of Raleigh reported (bit.ly/Q6WpJw) the cast will travel to Hawaii for the movie's finish.

For "Catching Fire," most of the film's action shifts from a temperate forest to a tropical island. Towns that provided the set for the first movie have not heard from Lionsgate studio about shooting for the sequel.

The head of the North Carolina Film Office, Aaron Syrett, points out much of the third book in the post-apocalyptic series takes place underground.
