HOPE IS BEAUTIFUL... and so is every woman being treated for cancer.
"Look Good...Feel Better" can help women face the challenge of a lifetime. "Look Good...Feel Better" is a program sponsored by the American Cancer Society for women undergoing cancer treatment. Cancer can rob a woman of her wellbeing, but it doesn't have to rob her of confidence and self-esteem.
"Look Good...Feel Better" is a free,non-medical, brand-neutral national public service program created to help individuals with cancer look good, improve their self-esteem, and thereby manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence by providing:
- Patient education through group workshops or individual sessions or self-help materials;
- Free program materials including videos, patient guides and brochures;
- Free makeup kits for each patient participating in a group workshop.
You cannot control cancer, but you can control how you look while you're being treated for cancer!
This group program is open to all women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of treatment. Volunteer beauty professionals who are trained and program certified by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, ACS, and PBA/NCA give their time to give these patients skin care, makeup and hair styling tips that specifically deal with treatment side effects and hygiene.
The Polk County Relay For Life will hold a "Look Good...Feel Better" session on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the First National Bank of Polk County, Rockmart Branch, 131 West Elm Street, Rockmart, GA.
Please call Nancy Wright, 678-591-3191 or DeMaris Vinson, 770-749-0221 for questions or to schedule. Walk-ins are always welcome!
